This PCI Express x1 to x5 SATA III JMB585 Chipset provides 5 Port SATA 6Gb/s card solution for your ZimaBoard and PC/server. Once installed, this card will add SATA ports with five independent channels. For the storage solution based on data transfer of multiple hard drives, this card allows support of five SATA devices at a speed of 6Gb/s whether it is a SATA hard drive or a SATA device.
For the storage solution based on data transfer of multiple hard drives, the newly added FIS-based switching design can overcome the bottlenecks created by operating multiple SATA storage devices simultaneously. The data transmission rate of the JMB585 can achieve 1700MB/s, which is the maximum transfer speed of PCIe Gen3 x2.
Please note, when connected with ZimaBoard, the plugged SATA HDDs will require external power input.
